What is a QR Code.
The QR Code (Quick Response Code) is a two-dimensional bar code that can be decoded via mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.
The code was developed in 1994 by the Japanese company Denso Wave, it has a capacity that can contain more data than a bar code and allows the fast decoding of its content.
After the release of the Codes under free licence, the QR Codes have been widely used in Mobile Marketing thanks to their ability to easily convey addresses and URLs.
The QR Code can, as a matter of fact, contains information enriching with virtual texts and digital contents (photos, videos, links, documents) the traditional off-line communication. With a simple click a static message is linked to the dynamic Web’s universe, proposing something to be experienced in the physical world, in the interaction among people.
The QR Codes can be decoded by any mobile device (Smartphone and Tablet). All it takes to be able to read the QR Codes is to download on the same device one of the many free scanning apps available on the stores.
